Poco has released the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update for its current gen flagship device, the Poco F3. The software is currently being seeded in Europe.
What is MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition?
It is essentially a side grade for MIUI 12.5, that introduces some software-level optimizations. More specifically, it focuses on 4 key elements that are designed to improve the device's longevity while offering the best performance.
- Swift Performance
- Focused Algorithms
- Atomized Memory
- Liquid Storage
Those are some fancy terms to throw around, and they don't make much sense, do they? Much sense? Here's what they do in layman's terms. Swift Performance and Focused Algorithms are CPU and Power related enhancements, that will dynamically allocate system resources based on your usage. So, if you're playing games, it will offer maximum performance. It helps conserve the power by reducing the CPU usage as required, which in turn translates to fewer charge cycles. Atomized Memory brings improved RAM management and prevents important apps in the background from being closed, while discarding unimportant ones. Liquid Storage retains the read and write performance of the storage over time, by implementing disk defragmentation, which Xiaomi claims will degrade the storage by just 5% over the course of 36 months.
The MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update for the Poco F3 brings with it the fixes from the latest Android Security Bulletin from Google, aka the September Security Patch. The version number of firmware is MIUI 12.5.6.0 RKHEUXM. It is based on Android 11. There are some new fingerprint options in the latest OS, though we are not sure what these do. The memory usage of the App Vault and the charging animation have been optimized. The new build arrives with a slew of fixes related to the lock screen, status bar and notifications. The update's release notes does not mention the random reboot bug, which was previously confirmed as a known issue, so it likely exists with this build as well.

Please note that this is for the Poco F3 EEA (European variant). It is a full ROM, and sums up to about 2.92GB to download.
Adimorah Blog notes that the firmware is marked as a stable beta update. That may sound crazy, but I've used many Xiaomi devices, and know that stable beta is in fact a real thing that the OEM does with its OS updates. It is rolled out gradually to users, and based on the feedback from them like if all goes well, it is then released on a grander scale to all users.
The following Xiaomi devices are eligible for the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced update, according to Xiaomi's official announcement.
- Mi 11
- Mi 11 Ultra
- Mi 11i
- Mi 11X Pro
- Mi 11X
- Mi 10T Pro
- Mi 10T
- Mi 10 Pro
- Mi 10
The new firmware is already available for the Mi 10 Pro, Mi 11i, Mi 11 Ultra, while the Pilot Program for the Mi 10, Mi 10T/10T Pro is underway. It will also be available for some Poco and Redmi devices.
