There are plenty of sales on Steam throughout the year, some smaller, some bigger. The Autumn Sale is a bigger sale as it runs from November 25 to December 1.
As is the case with recent Steam sales, all deals that you see is what you get. There won't be any Flash sales or extra discounts to wait for: if you want a game, you can purchase it right away if you think the price is right as it won't be discounted further.
You do need a Steam account to make purchases on the site and the Steam client to download and play these games. To get started, head over to the official website to browse what is available or download the Steam client. If you have the client installed already, you may use its shop interface as well to browser the selection.
Many sites publish lists of games but most of these focus on major titles. In this list, I'm going to suggest 10 titles that are on discount during the Steam Autumn Sale that are not considered Triple-A products. I played all of these and think they are great; they may not be games for everyone though as I prefer certain genres of games over others.
Slasher's Keep (€10.49)
Classic dungeon crawling in first-person with a cell shading look and feel. It is a roguelite game that focuses on melee combat and exploring a dungeon with a lot of levels.
Find loot, equip your character, and defeat different enemy types that get harder the more you progress in the game.
Tabletop Simulator (€9.99)
Tabletop Simulator brings boardgames to the virtual space. You can play popular boardgames with others online. It works best if at least one player knows the game and can explain it to the others.
There are free games to play but also official games, e.g. Zombicide, Scythe or Wingspan, that you can purchase as add-ons to play using the simulator.
Unity of Command Trilogy Bundle (€2.49)
While Unity of Command II is available, I like the first part better. The bundle includes the base game as well as two DLCs that let you play WWII from the German and Soviet perspective.
It is a tough turn-based strategy game in which you play a series of scenarios in which you need to reach certain objectives in time to proceed. Some failure may be tolerated, but the game ends prematurely if you don't accumulate enough prestige in maps.
Resident Evil 2 / Biohazard RE:2 Standard Edition (€15.99)
The remake of Resident Evil 2 was released in 2019. It is still the classic action-horror game but with improved visuals and content added to the game. It is a great play for players who never played the game but also for players who did play it but would like to relive it again albeit with improvements across the board.
Bioshock Remastered and Bioshock 2 Remastered (€4.99 each)
Bioshock is a shooter that plays in a dystopian world; it has great enemies, a compelling story, and enough meat to the game to entertain you for a long while. The remastered editions feature higher textures and resolution support for the most part.
Portal 2 (€1.63)
This is one of Valve's best games of all time, especially if you play it with a friend in co-op mode. It is a 3D puzzle game that relies heavily on physics, and it has great music and sound.
King's Bounty Crossworlds (€3.73)
Arguably the best game of the series, King's Bounty Crossworlds is a massive turn-based strategy game with lots of replayability. Think Heroes of Might and Magic, but with less focus on establishing your own bases in the world and more focus on improving the main hero and troops.
It features all the goodies you expect from a game of its kind including lots of spells, quests, enemies and enemy heroes, loot and equipment, and achievements to improve your hero and the troops further.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (€6.99)
Vermintide 2 is the second game in the Warhammer Vermintide series. It is an action co-op game that you can play with human or computer players. Pick one of the available classes, all with distinct abilities, and slash your way through thousands of rats and other creatures that try to keep you from reaching the campaign's goals.
